Two days ago we were mid-point between the beginning of winter and the start of spring. The season has been mild here in Portland and our eyes are already bedazzled with bursts of bright yellow from daffodils while drifts of scent from budding daphne begin to tantalize. We wake to the glass voices of finches at the feeders and the clucks and whistles of ruby throated hummingbirds. Amidst all the asphalt and concrete of this city, the natural world never fails to amaze.
The past few days find Camamu having a very short lull after the holidays and a busy January. Re-stocking our shelves, planning new soaps, catching up on blogging (!) all feel wonderful. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we have lots and lots of Unrepentant Rose Heart soaps on hand. These beauties are scented with Brazilian rose, geranium and palmarosa essential oils, have organic rose petals sprinkled on top and are hand-cut, ever so lovingly, with cookie cutters. They're available either unpackaged or else placed into kraft boxes that have been hand-stamped with art work done by the oh so talented Catherine Rondthaler. The only trouble with the hearts is that they're so beautiful our customers have been loathe to use them. Never fear though, there's always more at Camamu!
